CSS vs PMS vs PPSC: which group fits your exam?

CSS is FPSC’s federal exam. Candidates first clear an MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT) and then sit the written papers — English Essay, Précis & Composition, General Science & Ability, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, Islamiat and optional subjects. The MPT group above is useful in the months before the MPT; written-exam and essay groups matter after it.

PMS is the provincial equivalent (e.g. PPSC runs PMS for Punjab, SPSC runs CCE for Sindh). The syllabus overlaps heavily with CSS, which is why many groups combine “CSS PMS”.

PPSC also advertises hundreds of individual posts (lecturer, tehsildar, inspector, etc.), each with its own MCQ test. PPSC groups are most useful for post-specific MCQs and advertisement alerts — not for CSS essay preparation.

How to spot a fake CSS or PPSC WhatsApp message

• “Leaked paper” or “guaranteed selection” for a fee — always a scam; commissions don’t sell papers.
• Job adverts with a JazzCash/Easypaisa “registration fee” to a personal number — real PPSC/FPSC fees are paid through the official online application process.
• Result or roll-number links that don’t open on fpsc.gov.pk, ppsc.gop.pk or spsc.gov.pk.
• Requests for CNIC copies or OTP codes in chat — never share these in a group.

Using a study group without losing study hours

CSS preparation is long, and a busy group can eat an hour a day.
